India reported the highest number of Tuberculosis cases globally in 2024, followed by Indonesia, the Philippines, China, and Pakistan, according to a recent World Health Organisation report. The WHO Global Tuberculosis Report 2025 highlighted that most TB cases originated from regions like South-East Asia, the Western Pacific, and Africa. The data indicated that 87% of all TB cases were from the 30 high-burden countries, with 55% coming from the top five countries. Despite efforts, progress in reducing TB prevalence falls short of 2030 targets.
