India Needs $10 Trillion for Net-Zero Goal; Green Finance a Moral Obligation of the Global North: Bhupender Yadav

India’s Union environment minister emphasized that India holds the belief that developed nations have a moral obligation to assist the Global South in combatting climate change. He stated, ‘India needs $10 trillion to achieve its net-zero emissions goal, and it is imperative for the Global North to provide support.’ The minister made it clear that India has three primary principles regarding climate finance, including the view that climate finance is crucial for development, clean energy and efficient urban centers are essential for energy security, and nations investing in green initiatives now will have control over value chains.
