India is poised to be formally announced as the hosts of the centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030 in the coming month, marking a significant milestone in the country’s sports ambitions. The decision comes as part of India’s efforts to elevate its status on the global sporting stage and possibly position itself as a contender for the 2036 Olympics. The executive board of Commonwealth Sport has put forward Ahmedabad, located in the state of Gujarat, as the recommended host city for the prestigious event.
