Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of $4.34 billion in September, official data showed on Monday, falling short of economists’ forecasts. Both imports and exports surpassed market expectations, with imports increasing by 7.17% year-on-year to $20.34 billion, exceeding the projected 1% rise. Exports also performed well, rising by 11.41% to $24.68 billion in September, ahead of the expected 7.72% increase. Statistics Indonesia is set to release October’s inflation data and other economic indicators later today.
