Indonesia has shown interest in acquiring the BrahMos missile manufactured in Lucknow, as announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during his address to BJP workers in Lucknow. The bid was made by Indonesia, expressing a desire to purchase the locally made missile that is known for its high quality and precision. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined Singh in inaugurating the first batch of BrahMos missiles produced at the BrahMos Aerospace facility in Lucknow on October 18, 2025. The newly established facility marks a significant step in bolstering defence capabilities in the region.
The Lucknow-based manufacturer of the BrahMos supersonic missile system has successfully delivered the initial set of missiles from its advanced integration and testing facility. This state-of-the-art unit, which became operational on May 11, is a flagship project of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor. The missile assembly, integration, and testing processes adhere to stringent high-tech standards, ensuring the quality and reliability of the final product. The support from the Uttar Pradesh government, which provided 80 hectares of land for the factory at no cost, reflects the commitment to strengthening the country’s defence infrastructure.
During his speech, Defence Minister Singh emphasized the importance of upholding self-respect and dedicated service to the party. He encouraged party workers to follow rules diligently, drawing a parallel with the principled conduct of Lord Ram. Singh, a seasoned political figure, highlighted his past leadership roles within the party as a testament to commitment and hard work leading to success. As he praised the recent electoral victory in Bihar, Singh commended the electorate for transcending divides of caste and religion in support of progress.
Acknowledging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s international diplomacy, Singh noted India’s enhanced global standing under his leadership. The minister credited this positive image of India to the collective efforts of strong leadership and dedicated workers, emphasizing the role of each individual in shaping the nation’s narrative on the global stage.
