Indonesia to Invest $22 Billion in Agricultural Processing, Says Minister

Indonesia is set to invest 371 trillion rupiah ($22 billion) in agricultural processing for a range of commodities, aiming to generate job opportunities for eight million individuals, as announced by Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman. President Prabowo Subianto has prioritized the development of domestic processing to achieve 8% economic growth. The allocated investment will target the agriculture, food, livestock, horticulture, and plantation sectors, with a significant focus on commodities like sugar cane, cocoa, and cashews. Minister Amran highlighted the substantial impact that processing agricultural commodities can have on job creation, emphasizing the importance of accelerating this initiative.
