Indonesia Trains 20,000 Troops for Gaza Peacekeeping Force

Indonesia has trained a substantial force of up to 20,000 troops to engage in health and construction tasks during a potential peacekeeping mission in Gaza, announced the defense minister on Friday. The country, known as the world’s most populous Muslim nation, has been in discussions with the United States about the formation of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, including other countries like Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Qatar. A draft prepared by Washington highlighted the commitment of this force to ‘use all necessary measures’ to ensure the demilitarization of Gaza, secure its borders, protect civilians, facilitate aid delivery, and assist the newly trained Palestinian police force.
