Initiating Sustainable Precision Agriculture in Majapahit Land

Agricultural technology is advancing in Mojokerto, offering great opportunities for farmers in the Majapahit Land to enhance productivity and prosperity. They are gradually learning to apply sustainable precision agriculture. PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), through its program Rembuk Tani, deploys the Mobile Soil Testing Agronomist Team to educate and serve farmers. This includes educating on balanced fertilization and providing free soil testing services. The Agronomist Team covers various regions in East Java including Malang, Blitar, Kediri, and Mojokerto among others. The team operates multiple Mobile Soil Testing Units across the region. They rotate weekly among different districts or cities to reach more farmers. Each Rembuk Tani session becomes an opportunity for the Agronomist like Doni to educate farmers on balanced fertilization. It involves providing fertilizers that meet the crop’s needs while maintaining soil quality. To achieve this balance, free soil testing is offered to farmers including checking acidity levels, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, and organic Carbon content.
