Speculations are rife regarding possible trades for players like Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja. In this context, Mumbai Indians have called back an ex-player for the 18th season of the league.

In the prelude to the mini-auction, a trade has been finalized between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians for all-rounder Shardul Thakur. Shardul Thakur will now play again for Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians have traded with Lucknow Super Giants, acquiring the all-rounder for ₹2 crores as a replacement for the 18th season of the league.
