Iran will not allow Azerbaijan corridor

Iran is determined to prevent the establishment of a corridor near the border with Armenia that could link Azerbaijan to the exclave of Nakhchivan. The transit corridor is part of the peace agreement presented by US President Donald Trump on Friday. Both countries have committed to allowing the territorial integrity of Armenia to be respected, which Iran sees as a top priority. The Iranian government believes that the proposed corridor would pose a threat to regional stability and is taking a firm stance against it. Avoiding any potential implications for its own security, Iran is standing firm in its decision to block the corridor’s creation.
