Is the Diesel Nissan Patrol Taking Its Last Breath of Legend?

Nissan has decided to discontinue the diesel version of its popular SUV, the Patrol, citing a decrease in demand for diesel vehicles and the rise of hybrid and electric technologies. Although the diesel models of the Patrol Y63 remained popular in Australia, especially among those in agriculture and remote areas, the main markets for the Patrol are in the Middle East and North America, where gasoline engines are preferred. Nissan explained that they lacked modern, high-performance diesel engines that meet current environmental and efficiency standards, leading to the decision to halt diesel variants. The company’s choice reflects a desire to adapt to changing market trends and customer preferences.
