Is the rotation of reservations in existence changed in Maharashtra?

The High Court heard 14 petitions challenging the reservations for district council and panchayat elections in Maharashtra on Thursday. During the hearing, the Court posed a direct and tough question to the Election Commission and the State government: ‘Why change the existing rotation of reservations?’ Both sides argued their points for an extended period, leading the Court to postpone the final decision to Friday’s hearing. In the state, violations of the 50% reservation limit in district council and panchayat bodies will be discussed in the Supreme Court on Friday for the final hearing.
