Israeli Prime Minister Seeks Forgiveness amid Corruption Trial

Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership is under investigation. In 2019, he was accused of corruption and other offenses. The trial related to these charges is ongoing in court. However, he has found support from Trump against these allegations. Furthermore, he has stated the need to seek public forgiveness. In this situation, facing requests for forgiveness amid corruption trials, he submitted a 111-page request to the Attorney General, requesting to spare himself from prosecution. He presented these documents to the Justice Ministry’s legal department. While still in the midst of the trial, an incident of seeking forgiveness occurred, sparking controversy. Opponents have staged protests in Tel Aviv against his actions.
