Jet2 relaunches flights to Egypt for first time since 2011

Jet2 is gearing up to reintroduce flights to Egyptian destinations for the first time in a decade. The government of Egypt revealed plans for 14 new weekly routes connecting UK cities with Red Sea resorts on November 27. Starting in 2027, Jet2 will operate flights to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, providing an additional 169,000 seats for travelers in the inaugural year. The decision comes after the suspension of flights in 2011 due to political turbulence, a move that was ‘frustrating’ for tourists and disconnected the UK from Egypt for 14 years.
