Jörg Urban travels to BRICS conference: Political controversies in Saxony

Urban will take a flight to the Russian city of Sochi for the BRICS conference from November 13th to 17th, confirmed by a spokesperson from the faction to TAG24. He will be accompanied by AfD Bundestag members Steffen Kotré (54) and Rainer Rothfuß (54), as well as MEP Hans Neuhoff (66). CSU Secretary-General Martin Huber (47) criticized the trip in the ‘Handelsblatt’, accusing AfD delegates of collaborating with the Kremlin to advance Russian interests, calling it ‘treason’. However, SPD faction leader Henning Homann (46) joked by saying ‘Urban is sleeping with the enemy’, while Left Party deputy leader Stefan Hartmann (57) doubted AfD’s ability to negotiate a ceasefire with Russia.
