Jovem Pan clarifies MPF publication on official website

On Monday, the Federal Public Ministry released on its official website the final allegations presented in the Civil Public Action filed against Jovem Pan in 2023. This process follows the natural course of the Brazilian Judiciary and the presentation of the final allegations – which are nothing more than a summary of the parties’ arguments throughout the process – is not an act deserving of attention, which is why Jovem Pan did not report it or make it the subject of its news programs. Nevertheless, in spite of this, the Federal Public Ministry, in the note released on its website, tries to make a connection between the Civil Public Action and the trial concluded last week at the Supreme Federal Court, which convicted eight defendants for plotting against the Democratic Rule of Law. In view of this attempt to make news out of what is not and the transparency that Jovem Pan has always maintained with its audience, we are providing the full text of the final arguments presented by the broadcaster. In addition, for clarification, we present here the official statement from Jovem Pan’s lawyers on the subject: In response to the note published by the Federal Public Ministry on its website on Monday (15), Jovem Pan informs that it does not comment on ongoing actions, maintains full confidence in the Judiciary, and the full text of its final allegations can be consulted on the Federal Justice website, by searching for case number 5019210-57.2023.4.03.6100. However, in view of the reprehensible conduct adopted by the Federal Public Ministry in disseminating inaccurate information on its website, the broadcaster finds it necessary to provide the necessary clarifications to society: 1) Jovem Pan is not a defendant in any of the criminal actions recently decided by the Supreme Federal Court, nor was it investigated in any of the inquiries that gave rise to them; 2) To further corroborate the improper conduct by the Federal Public Ministry, it is important to note that there is no criminal accusation in this action, so linking the investigation in these records to the criminal convictions issued by the Supreme Federal Court, beyond the lack of technicality, is an improper attempt to influence the judgment and readers with a narrative completely detached from the elements in the records. Finally, and in line with the position adopted throughout its more than 80 years of history, Jovem Pan reaffirms its commitment to democracy, the Powers and Institutions that sustain our Republic, and our citizen Constitution, which has freedom of speech as one of its pillars.
