The company claims that in the face of news linking Vitor Reis to City, they sent a letter to the English club on January 9, stating their exclusivity to broker the deal. On the following day, January 10, Palmeiras President Leila Pereira gave an interview saying the club had no offers for the defender. On January 13, Agon notified Palmeiras, stating they must be involved in any transaction. The green-and-white team responded on the 15th, unilaterally stating the termination of the signed agreement with the company. Six days later, Manchester City announced the signing of Vitor Reis. Agon took the matter to court in February, claiming 10% of all sums in the deal. Palmeiras defended itself by arguing that the company was no longer part of the negotiation and had no right to access anything, as the club had terminated the brokerage agreement. An initial ruling granted Agon access to the documents but was later reversed by Palmeiras. The latest decision in late October mandated Palmeiras to disclose all transaction documents, keeping the dispute under seal.
