The Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive strike on Kyiv on the night of August 28th. One of the missiles hit a five-story residential building on Borispol Street in the Darnytskyi district, leaving it almost completely destroyed. According to Ukrainian authorities, by 12:19 am, 15 people had died in Kyiv, most of them in the Darnytskyi district. Dozens of people were injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia ‘chooses ballistic missiles, not negotiating tables, chooses to continue killings, not end the war.’ On August 29th, Kyiv declared a day of mourning in memory of the victims of the Russian attack.
