The Colombian restaurant ODA was named the most sustainable, while Chilean Rodolfo Guzmán was selected as the regional icon. Ecuadorian Alejandro Chamorro won Best Chef according to his peers, and Argentinean Maximiliano Pérez was named the best sommelier.
The Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 also honored the Lima-based restaurant Kjolle with the Art of Hospitality Award for its warm, meticulous service that showcases Peru’s culinary diversity.
Ana, a restaurant in Guatemala City led by chef Nicolas Solanilla, was the recipient of the One To Watch Award 2025, recognizing an up-and-coming star in the regional gastronomic scene.
Dominican Inés Páez Nin, popularly known as Chef Tita, won the Champions of Change Award 2025, showcasing individuals making a significant impact on the future of hospitality and their communities.
The extended list
In November, the organization revealed restaurants ranked from No. 51 to 100. This included venues from 26 cities across the region, with 13 newcomers making their debut.
Among the ten Brazilian entries, six were from São Paulo, the city with the most restaurants on the extended list: Kotori, Metzi, Maní, Cepa, D.O.M., and Notiê. Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Santiago each had four representatives.
The voting process
For Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025, the 50 Best partnered with Deloitte as the official and independent consultancy. The Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy includes 300 discerning voters from the region, comprising journalists, influential food critics, celebrated chefs, restaurateurs, and experienced gourmets.
The voters collectively determine the final list by casting 10 votes based on exceptional experiences from the past 18 months, with at least four votes allocated to venues outside their home country. The Academy is divided into five regions: Mexico, Central America, South America (north), South America (south), and Brazil.
What is Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants
Launched in 2013, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants aims to celebrate the region’s cuisine and recommend Latin American restaurants to enthusiasts worldwide. The list is published by William Reed, the same organization behind The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants, and North America’s 50 Best Restaurants.
