Turkey bid farewell to cinema legend Engin Caglar on November 2, as reported by the Turkish publication Haberler. The 85-year-old actor tragically lost his life in a traffic accident. According to Turkish media, at the funeral, touching words were spoken by his wife Filiz Vural and his sons Eser and Caglan Ovet. They revealed that Engin Caglar had expressed the desire to pass away in November. ‘My father always said: “My grandfather and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk passed away in November, and I also want to depart in November,”‘ the actor’s son was quoted as saying by the Turkish publication. A funeral ceremony was held for the actor at the Central Mosque of Sisli. Celebrities like Ediz Hun, Nuri Alco, and Teoman Ayik paid their respects to the Turkish cinema icon. Engin Caglar was laid to rest at the Zindjirlikuyu Cemetery in the European part of Istanbul. Engin Caglar was crossing a road in Istanbul when he was struck by a motorcyclist. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately could not be saved. Throughout his life, he appeared in numerous Turkish films such as ‘The Orphan,’ ‘The Lonely Man,’ and ‘The Sad Love.’
