Excited for the Libertadores final against Flamengo, President Leila Pereira stated on Thursday (27) that she will ‘lose it’ in case Palmeiras wins the title on Saturday (29). The match will take place at 6 pm (Brasília time) at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, Peru. In addition, the team’s president made a promise: she will break the habit of not drinking alcohol if Verdão wins the fourth title. ‘I don’t want to rest, I won’t rest. God willing, on Sunday you will see me in the streets… The president doesn’t drink, I don’t drink absolutely anything. I am a woman of principles, but if we become champions, I will lose control, right? It’s fair, isn’t it?’ Leila said in an interview with ‘SporTV’.
Leila Pereira arrived in Lima to support Palmeiras and ensured that she is calm for the continental decision. ‘My preparations are done, I am mentally ready. Later today, I will talk to our athletes, give them the support I always do. I will have a conversation with our coach as well. Whatever happens, we will be together next year, I know the work each one of us puts in. We will step onto the field thinking about them, about this journey. It’s a lot of effort from each one of us: president, athlete, coach. I am there daily, I see that,’ she stated.
‘We want this victory, but it’s a game. One will win and the other will lose. I am prepared and I will never give up. I am extremely excited,’ she concluded.
