Leo Ortiz is called up by Flamengo against Racing

In a lightning-fast recovery, defender Leo Ortiz was called up by Flamengo for the decisive first leg match of the Libertadores semifinal, today, at 9:30 pm, against Racing (ARG), at Maracanã. The defender suffered a sprained ankle ligament during the match against Palmeiras last Sunday. He left Maracanã on crutches straight to the hospital, where he underwent exams and the injury was confirmed. Ortiz underwent intensive treatment inside and outside the club to be fit to play. However, it is unknown if Filipe Luís will start him or not. If he stays on the bench, Danilo will be chosen to pair up with Leo Pereira. De la Cruz is back. The midfielder had ankle pain that kept him out of the victories over Botafogo and Palmeiras. Watch Libertadores matches on Paramount+. Subscribe now through UOL Play.
