The First Panel of the Supreme Court (STF) resumes on Tuesday, 9, the trial of the criminal action against former president Jair Bolsonaro and seven other defendants for an attempted coup after the 2022 elections. On this third day of case analysis, the ministers start reading their votes. The case’s rapporteur, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, analyzed the preliminary objections raised by the defendants’ lawyers and is now reading his vote on the case’s merits. The session will be adjourned for lunch, and the trial will resume in the afternoon at 2 p.m. in a regular session. A total of eight sessions were scheduled, but on the afternoon of last Friday, 5, Moraes requested extra sessions from Minister Cristiano Zanin, President of the First Panel, who granted the request. On Thursday, 11, there will also be morning and afternoon sessions. The trial’s outcome is expected to be announced on Friday, the 12th.
