Liverpool will have to bid farewell to Mohamed Salah for several weeks as the Egypt star gears up for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. The 2025 edition of the competition will begin earlier than before, with the group stage scheduled for the second half of December and the knockout stage starting in early January. This means that many of the Premier League’s top players will be heading to host country Morocco before the hectic festive period. AFCON regulations mandate that clubs release their players no later than December 15, in preparation for the tournament’s kickoff on December 21. Egypt’s training camp begins on December 3, followed by a closed camp on December 7.
