President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) conversed with American President Donald Trump via video conference on Monday (10/6). Lula asked Trump to remove the 40% tariff imposed on Brazilian products and the restrictive measures applied against Brazilian authorities, such as visa revocations and financial sanctions against Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF (Supreme Federal Court). The video conference took place at the request of the American side, as reported by BBC News Brazil. Trump’s representatives approached Lula last week to make the arrangements. A new conversation between the two presidents had been expected since they met in person during the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Trump mentioned the ‘excellent chemistry’ between them. According to a statement from the Palace, the conversation lasted 30 minutes ‘in a friendly tone’ and both agreed to meet in person ‘soon’.
