Kuala Lumpur – President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated on Monday (27/10), at the opening of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that the Brics bloc ‘was not born to confront anyone.’ ‘Brics, which has the honor of including countries from the region among its members and partners, is a vehicle for a more representative global governance. Brics was not born to confront anyone,’ emphasized Lula. In his speech, the Brazilian president highlighted the closer ties between Southeast Asia and Brazil, seeking support from East Asia to strengthen multilateral responses to climate change.’The seas surrounding us cannot become a stage for violations of international law,’ he stressed.
