Macedo will be replaced by federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP). This change marks the thirteenth cabinet shuffle in Lula’s government. Since the beginning of the third term of the Brazilian president in January 2023, there has been an average of one change every 76 days, or two and a half months. Previous changes include Gonçalves Dias’s departure from the Office of Institutional Security of the Republic Presidency, Daniela Carneiro being replaced at the Ministry of Tourism by Celso Sabino, and Ana Moser leaving the Ministry of Sports for André Fufuca to take her place.
