Men Over 50 Urged to Undergo One Essential Test

Doctor Samir Sanghvi, a general practitioner, has stated that men over 50 must undergo one essential test. His words were reported by Daily Mirror. Sanghvi pointed out that many men avoid checking their prostate health, fearing a rectal examination. However, according to him, for diagnosis, it is sufficient to have a blood test for Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) and, if necessary, an MRI. It is particularly important to do this after the age of 50, as the risk of developing the disease increases at this age. Sanghvi recommended undergoing regular screenings rather than waiting for typical symptoms of prostate cancer to appear, as their presence indicates that the tumor has grown large enough to start compressing the urethra.
