Meta’s glasses launch signals that AI will disappear

Many believe that true AI breakthrough will come when it surpasses human intelligence (still a disputed hypothesis), but I believe its greatest transformative potential will be reached when it simply disappears. Not in the sense of ceasing to exist, but becoming so ubiquitous that we no longer know where it begins and ends. Many technologies have vanished because they became an integral part of our existence. The Internet followed a similar trajectory. There was a time when we would ‘go online’ like a ritual, sitting in front of a computer, connecting, doing our tasks, and then disconnecting. The borders between two different worlds were breached with smartphones and data connections. AI is likely to follow a similar path. Currently, we interact with smart models through chatbot interfaces that clearly denote we are dealing with a machine. The proposal now is to make AI pervasive, a present but invisible entity that can perceive our surroundings and converse with us using natural language. A kind of spirit that expands our existence, cognition, and emotions.
