Senator Miguel Uribe, a Colombian presidential pre-candidate, passed away after spending two months in the Intensive Care Unit following being shot in the head during a campaign rally in a popular neighborhood of Bogotá in June, as reported by his wife early Monday morning. At 39 years old, he was a prominent opposition figure against the current government and was a frontrunner in the upcoming elections in Colombia. “Thank you for a life filled with love,” wrote María Claudia Tarazona on her Instagram account, alongside a picture of the couple. “Rest in peace, love of my life, I will take care of our children,” she added.
