Minas Gerais cities on alert for storms and hailstorms

Eighteen municipalities in the North and Northwest regions of Minas Gerais are on alert for storms and hailstorms until 10 am this Thursday (9/25). The meteorological warning issued by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) informs about rainfall between 30 and 100 mm/day, as well as strong winds between 60 and 100 km/h. The amount of rainfall is measured in millimeters (mm). Each millimeter corresponds to one liter of water per square meter. For example, if it rains 50 millimeters, it means that 50 liters of water fell on each square meter.
