MINI’s Impossible Feat: The Round Screen Became the Brand’s Most Complex Tribute in History

MINI has unveiled the development process of its signature round OLED display, which turned out to be the most complex ‘homage’ in the brand’s history. The company disclosed that the interface was created in collaboration with Designworks and BMW. Initially experimenting with 3D graphics and intricate elements, the team later simplified the design to maintain the original MINI spirit with its central round dial. Adrian van Hooydonk noted that the development ran parallel to BMW’s curved display introduction but MINI opted to retain the round shape as part of its distinctive style.
