Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF (Supreme Federal Court), ordered on Wednesday (29) that the government of Rio de Janeiro provide information about the megaoperation that left over 100 dead and scheduled a hearing with Governor Cláudio Castro (PL). In the decision, Moraes instructs the governor to explain if the judicial determinations were followed in the operations in the Alemão and Penha complexes in Rio. Among the explanations, Castro must provide a justification for the operation, the number of agents involved, the official number of dead and injured, measures taken to ensure accountability in cases of abuse by authority, assistance to victims, communication to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the use of cameras, among other measures.
