More than 250 children in Tyumen infected with deadly infection through food

In the Tyumen region, around 458 people have been infected with salmonellosis in the first ten months of this year. According to the regional branch of Rospotrebnadzor, the rate was 28.2 cases per 100,000 people, with a total population of 1,626.8 thousand. Children were the most vulnerable group, accounting for just over 60% of the total infected, around 275 people. The agency clarifies that there were no group outbreaks, such as in kindergartens or schools, recorded this year. Rospotrebnadzor reminds that salmonellosis often develops due to violations in storing and preparing food. To reduce the risk of infection, it is important to follow basic measures such as washing hands before eating and after using the toilet, avoiding undercooked meat, thoroughly washing eggs, boiling them for at least 10 minutes after boiling, not buying meat, milk, cheese, and cottage cheese from unauthorized points, avoiding contact between raw and cooked food, and storing perishable goods in the refrigerator within the expiration dates.
