The Deputy Prosecutor Lucas Rocha Furtado, representing the Public Ministry at the Federal Court of Accounts, asked on Friday, the 12th, for the Court to immediately suspend the remuneration of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and other military personnel convicted of attempting a coup. Maintaining the payments, Furtado argued in the petition sent to President Vital do Rêgo, violates the principles of administrative morality and efficiency. On Thursday, the Supreme Federal Court sentenced Bolsonaro and seven defendants for crimes of coup d’état, criminal organization, and qualified damage, among others. The former president earns a monthly income of up to 100,000 reais. The amount includes two retirements (46,000 reais from the Chamber of Deputies and 12,800 from the Army) and a salary of 33,800 reais for the role of honorary president of the Liberal Party, public funds from the party’s fund.
