Naxalites in Jharkhand encountered heavy resistance. In an encounter in Hazaribagh district, three Naxalites, including key commander Sahadev Soren with a Rs. 1 crore reward, were killed. They met their demise in a fierce exchange of gunfire in the Pandittri area near the Gorahar police station boundaries. Police believe this incident will deter Naxal activities in the region as security forces have intensified operations against them. Currently, combing operations are underway in the area.
