New £160m Megacity Rising on Egypt’s Mediterranean Coast to Compete with Spain

A £160 million city of the future is emerging on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, aiming to compete with popular European holiday destinations like Spain, Italy, and Greece. New El-Alamein City, as it’s officially called, is envisioned as the ‘new face’ of the Egyptian Riviera, with beautiful white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and an average November temperature of around 24°C, attracting tourists year-round. The project, located in the Marsa Matruh governorate, covers an area of nearly 49,000 feddans and is set to house up to three million residents, becoming one of the most advanced cities in the Middle East.
