New cold front advances this weekend and changes the weather; see what we know

A cold front driven by a mass of cold air is advancing through Southern Brazil this weekend, bringing rain to Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Paraná, with isolated thunderstorms possible during the passage of the frontal system, according to MetSul Meteorology. The weather started to change in Rio Grande do Sul already yesterday, although most areas of the state still experienced a day of sun and high clouds with heat in the afternoon. Pre-frontal instability areas brought rain and thunderstorms to the West of Rio Grande do Sul on Friday with generally low accumulations and high amounts only isolated in the region. Weather stations recorded over 40 mm of rain on Friday in Barra do Quaraí, but in other municipalities of the West, the volumes were lower.
