New Diesel Hybrids 2026: Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota – What’s Coming

Diesel hybrids remain one of the most rational technologies for those who prioritize low consumption and high range. In 2026, at least 20 new models will be released, primarily with 48-volt MHEV systems, but sometimes with more advanced PHEV solutions. Audi is preparing the new A6 and A6 Avant with a 2.0 TDI MHEV at 204 hp, and later on, the large Q7 and Q9 with a upgraded 3.0 TDI almost at 300 hp. BMW will introduce a new generation of the 3 Series, keeping diesel versions from 150 to 340 hp, and will also update the X1, X2, X5, and 7 Series.
