CAIRO – Siemens Mobility has recently unveiled high-speed trains in Egypt, promising to revolutionize travel in the country. The new Velaro trains, with a top speed of 155 miles per hour, were showcased at the TransMEA 2025 show in New Cairo. The plan involves deploying 41 of these trains on a 1,200-mile high-speed network that will link major Egyptian cities, making travel faster and more accessible to the population. Siemens, in partnership with Arab Contractors and Orascom Construction, has been working on this project since 2018.
