New Invention from China Increases Battery Range by +10%: Breaking All Patterns

Dongfeng announced a new record for hybrid gasoline engines: the specialized 1.5T ‘Mach’ achieved 48.09% thermal efficiency and received the ‘energy-efficient star’ certification from a Chinese specialized center. Higher thermal efficiency means more energy from fuel is converted into thrust rather than being lost as heat, resulting in lower fuel consumption and easier maintenance of an economical driving mode. The manufacturer attributes this achievement to three areas of improvements and a dozen integration solutions. The first is a more efficient combustion process with high compression ratio, long-stroke geometry, high-pressure injection, and a reinforced ignition system.
