The newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo dismissed photographer Alex Silva, 63, on Wednesday (8/6), the author of the photo in which Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the Supreme Federal Court (STF), is seen showing his middle finger to fans during the first match between Corinthians and Palmeiras, for the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, on July 30th, at NeoQuímica Arena, in São Paulo. The snapshot of the obscene gesture occurred during Moraes’ first appearance after the minister received sanctions from the United States government under the Magnitsky Act. At the stadium, Moraes reacted to insults from a group of Corinthians fans. The photo went viral on social media and sparked a series of criticisms of the STF minister’s public behavior.
