North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile Eastwards, According to South Korea

North Korea launched a ballistic missile eastwards, the South Korean military reported on Wednesday (22), local time. No details were provided about the launch. Earlier, the Yonhap news agency reported that the launch was towards the sea, on the east coast of North Korea. North Korea rejects the international ban supported by the US, South Korea, among others, on its development of ballistic missiles. The launch comes ahead of next week’s visit to South Korea by leaders attending an Asia-Pacific economic forum, including US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. This month, North Korea displayed its latest intercontinental ballistic missile in a parade attended by the Chinese premier.
