After 52 years, Palmeiras may once again have their attacking duo called up to play in a World Cup. Leading the Brazilian Championship and reaching the final of the Copa Libertadores this season, Vitor Roque and Flaco López will defend their respective national teams during this FIFA international break, aiming for a spot in the 2026 World Cup. Roque, who has scored 20 goals for Palmeiras since joining in February, is a new addition to the Brazil squad for friendlies against Senegal on Saturday and Tunisia next Tuesday. Meanwhile, Flaco, Palmeiras’ top scorer this season with 23 goals, has been called up for the third consecutive time by Argentina and will play against Angola tomorrow.
