Paraguay to Declare PCC and CV as Terrorist Organizations and Activates Alert on the Border

The government of Paraguay announced on Thursday (30) that it will declare the Red Command (CV) and the First Capital Command (PCC) as terrorist organizations and has activated maximum alert on the border with Brazil. The announcement comes after the mega-operation against the Red Command in Rio de Janeiro, which left more than 120 dead. ‘We will declare the Red Command and the PCC as terrorist organizations. This will happen through a decree probably in the next few hours. There are plenty of reasons to make this declaration, which has its weight and counterweight,’ announced Cíbar Benítez, Minister of the National Defense Command of Paraguay. Regarding border control, he stated that the country will ‘increase to the maximum level of alert’ throughout the border area with Brazil, especially to the east. ‘This is not only about intelligence, or just presence, there will be an increase in numbers, a reinforcement of means. This is personnel and material, everything related to defense and security,’ he stated.
