Paraná State announces reduction in IPVA for 2026; rate drops to 1.9%

The State government announced a reduction in the IPVA rate for 2026. Governor Ratinho Junior made the announcement on Wednesday morning at the Iguaçu Palace. According to the Executive, the rate will be 1.9% for vehicles registered in Paraná. This year’s rate was 3.5% based on the vehicles’ fair market value.

The drop is 45%, reducing the current 3.5% rate to 1.9%, the lowest in the country according to the government. The taxation covers a fleet of 4 million vehicles in the state.

Governor Ratinho Junior believes that this measure will help reduce default rates and promote tax equity.
