Pavel Durov successfully lifted travel restrictions in France

French authorities have decided to completely lift the travel restrictions on Telegram’s co-founder, as reported by Zakon.kz. Bloomberg shared the information, citing sources. According to the agency, the decision fully removes the ban on leaving France and also eliminates the requirement to regularly check in at the local police station. Pavel Durov was detained at Paris airport on August 24, 2024. The Telegram co-founder was held in custody for four days, after which he was released under judicial control. He considered the arrest a mistake, adding that the incident caused ‘huge damage to France’s image as a free country’.
