Peskov confirms contacts with Kiev regarding prisoner exchange

Currently, negotiations for a prisoner exchange are taking place at an expert level, stated the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov. This comes as a response to media reports suggesting that a Russian-Ukrainian meeting is planned in Istanbul. ‘At the moment, I have nothing to report on this matter. There are indeed contacts at an expert level regarding the prisoner exchange, and discussions are ongoing. However, I won’t provide any specifics right now,’ Peskov said. On November 11, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, arrived in Istanbul, where he promised a series of meetings regarding the process of exchanging prisoners of war. He also mentioned that negotiations on this matter will take place not only in Turkey but also in other Middle Eastern countries.
