The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), said he facilitated a conversation between Federal Deputy Guilherme Derrite (PP-SP) and PF Director-General Andrei Rodrigues regarding the Anti-Faction Bill. Motta stated that the PF will remain responsible for investigating crimes committed by organized crime. The agency released a note on Monday stating they are monitoring with ‘concern’ the proposed changes by Derrite, the project’s rapporteur. Derrite presented a report for the Anti-Faction Bill with changes compared to the government’s initial text sent to the Chamber. The original proposal introduced a new criminal figure for criminal factions, but the alternate text by the deputy now classifies some of these behaviors under the Anti-Terrorism Law.

PF will continue to lead investigations against factions, says Motta
