Widely discussed in Central Java (Jateng), the proposal to implement a six-day school week has drawn harsh criticism from the Indonesian Teachers Union (PGRI) Jateng. The head of PGRI Jateng mentioned that even in the U.S., many schools only have a 4-day school week. The Jateng Provincial Government is currently considering the program for high schools. It is still under review.
